Suspect reported to be in custody

JACKSON — The third suspect in the Dec. 9 theft of jewelry from a home in the Four Seasons Metedeconk Lakes adult community has turned himself in to police.

Stephen Spizzirri, 25, of Freehold Township, surrendered himself at 2:45 p.m. Dec. 30 at Jackson Police Headquarters and was arrested.

“Mr. Spizzirri turned himself in on warrants issued by Jackson Detective Frank Mendez for burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy relating to the Nottingham Way (Metedeconk Lakes) crime,” Jackson police Capt. David Newman said. “Bail was set at $35,000 [and the suspect was] unable to post the necessary bail.”

Spizzirri was remanded to the custody of the Ocean County Department of Corrections, police said.

Previously arrested in connection with the Dec. 9 theft of jewelry were Michael Vaccaro, 23, of Freehold, and Eugene Imbriale, 25, of Porchester Drive in the Metedeconk Lakes development.

Several pieces of the victim’s jewelry were later recovered at a Freehold jewelry business, according to police, who said they are still searching for additional pieces of the victim’s jewelry.
