Garden club meeting
   Thursday, Jan. 27 — The Neshanic Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting at 10 a.m. at the Station House on Olive Street in Neshanic Station.
   Walter Choroszewski, photographer and lecturer, will present “The Great Tree Adventure.” Also, club member Jeannie Geremia will speak about the New Jersey State Flower Show.
   A light luncheon will be served before the program. Members are asked to “lug a mug” to help protect the environment. Prospective members are encouraged to attend.

Robotics team fundraiser
   Saturday, Jan. 29 — The Hillsborough High School robotics team will host an all-you-can-eat pasta dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Hillsborough Municipal Building, 379 South Branch Road. Takeout will be available.
   The cost will be $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and $5 for children. All proceeds support HHS Robotics.
Church dinner
   Saturday, Jan. 29 — A spaghetti and meatball dinner and bake sale will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the South Branch Reformed Church, 870 River Road, Hillsborough.
   To reserve tickets in advance, call 369-4956. Adults, $9; children 6-12, $4; and children 5 and under, free. Take-outs available.
Camp open house
   Sunday, Jan. 30 — The Somerset Valley YMCA will host a Camp Open House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at each branch — Bridgewater, Hillsborough and Somerville.

HHS baseball fundraiser
   Sunday, Feb. 6 — The Raider Diamond Club will hold its annual all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hillsborough Municipal Building, 379 South Branch Road.
   Menu includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, bagels and doughnuts. Cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children and senior citizens.
   Proceeds will benefit Hillsborough High School baseball.
Comedy night
   Saturday, Feb. 12 — The Hillsborough Optimist Club will present its second Comedy Night from 7 to 10 p.m. at St. Joseph Church, Yorktown Road.
   Tickets are $25 a person. BYOB; there will be snacks. Guests must be 21 or older to attend.
   Proceeds will benefit Camp Quality, a year-round camp program for children battling cancer.

Book signing
   Thursday, Feb. 17 — The public is invited to attend a book signing and open house from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Avalon Assisting Living at Hillsborough, 393 Amwell Road.
   Stop by and meet Patti Kerr, author of “I Love You … Who Are You?” and learn about her family’s journey with Alzheimer’s and her writing about loving and caring for a parent with Alzheimer’s.
   Refreshments, wine and cheese will be served.

Baby-sitter training
   Friday, Feb. 18 — Baby-sitter training will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the American Red Cross, 14 W. Cliff St., Somerville.
   There will be training in child care, first aid and making smart decisions to stay safe in any baby-sitting situation.
   Bring a lunch. The cost is $65 per person.

Continuing events
   Alzheimer’s support group — The Alzheimer’s Association has a newly formed support group in Hillsborough. Family members and caregivers come together to share information and support in a safe and confidential atmosphere.
   Meetings are the second Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m. in the sunroom at Emeritus Senior Living, 600 Auten Road, Hillsborough. All are welcome. Call 431-1300 if attending.
   Project Graduation dress collection — Project Graduation of Hillsborough High School is collecting new and gently used prom and evening wear (juniors and woman’s, short and long dresses) for a sale to be held at HHS on March 5. Have the dress clean and on a hanger.
