Peddie Aquatics excels at Mini-Meet

Over 60 area swimmers from Peddie Aquatics Association competed in the Snowball Mini-Meet in Princeton Jan. 16, and had top-three finishes in 38 events.
In the 8&Under 100 medley relay, Peddie finished 1-2 with the winning team consisting of Kaitlyn Cawley (Monroe), Micaela Bernard (Hightstown), Zoe Stokes (Cranbury) and Fiona McIntyre (Monroe), who swam 1:22.71. The close second-place team finished in 1:23.92 behind Angela Dong (Robbinsville), Jordan Reid (Allentown), Veronique Di Blasio (Princeton), and Miranda Cai (Cranbury).
Peddie also placed second in the 8&U 100 free relay (1:13.83) with McIntyre, Millstone’s Kaila Bernstiel, Cai and Cawley.
In 8-year-old individual results, Stokes won the 25 free (15.29) and the 50 fly (44.11); and Cawley won the 25 breast (21.65) and placed second in the 50 back (43.67). Manalapan’s Anthony Napreev was second in the 25 back (21.33) and 50 free (39.88) and finished third in the 25 free (17.68).
Cai took second in the 50 free (38.31) and third in the 50 fly (52.31); and Bernard placed second in the 50 fly (51.39) and third in the 100 IM (1:41.42). Gillian Hauschild (Cranbury) finished second in the 50 breast (54.07) and Bernstiel placed second in the 100 free (1:27.74). Meghan Callahan (Cranbury) placed third in the 25 back (21.06) and Adam Zaiser (Hightstown) finished third in the 100 IM (1:46.91), Brett Pyhel placed third in the 50 fly (1:00.11) and Jordan Reid of Allentown finished third in the 25 free (18.46). Robbinsville’s Angela Dong took third in the 50 breast (55.17) and the 100 free (1:29.65).
In the 7-year-old events, Cranbury’s Johnathan Wu won the 50 free (44.72), took second in the 50 back (55.37) and third in the 25 breast (29.40). Millstone’s Jack Martinek won the 50 back (53.62) and placed second in the 50 free (47.43). Layne Peterson (Hightstown) won the 25 back (22.06) and finished third in the 25 fly (24.80), while East Windsor’s Rachel Uy took third in the 50 breast (1:02.66).
In the 6&under age group, seven Peddie medals came from its West Windsor swimmers: Sara Atilgan won the 25 free (20.89) and the 25 breast (30.95) and took third in the 25 back (24.76); Scott Nahoum won the 25 breast (29.17) and took third in the 25 back (26.75); and Michelle Li finished third in the 25 free (22.39) and fourth in the 25 back (25.60). Millstone’s Talia Hanson finished second in the 25 breast (39.06) and Brielle Peerboom took second in the 25 back (24.39). Monroe’s Nick Natale placed second in the 25 breast (38.79).
