The historic Strand Center for the Arts, Lakewood, will present the Pushcart Players’ production of “Peter and the Wolf” on March 6 at 2 p.m. “Peter and the Wolf” is an adaptation of the traditional Russian folk tale set to music by Sergei Prokofiev. While providing an introduction to the world of music and musical instruments, this tale is all about the adventure of growing up. Danger becomes reality, and creative innovation becomes essential as young Peter meets the challenge of survival in the outside world.
This free event is for all ages and is presented by the New Jersey Theater Alliance and The Stages Festival as part of Family Week at the theater. Tickets will be available at the door only on the day of the performance. Details: 732-730-5925.
