Air Force Col. Gregory E. Schwab has assumed command of the 95th Air Base Wing at Edwards Air Force Base, Rosamond, Calif., which is the second largest base in the U.S. Air Force. As commander, Schwab is responsible for operating the air base’s infrastructure, communication systems, security operations, medical and fire protection services, transportation systems, supply lines, financial management, contracting operations, legal services, personnel and manpower support, housing, education, chapel, and quality-of-life programs on a 308,000-acre base in the Mojave Desert. The air base wing operations directly support the flight test and evaluation mission of the Force Test Center. Schwab is the son of Jim and Jackie Schwab of Gresham, Ore. His wife, Robin, is the daughter of Joyce Parker of Plumsted Township.

Army National Guard Pfc. Shiniece T. Moore, daughter of Robert D. and Eleanor H. Moore of Lakewood, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission and received instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, rifle marksmanship, weapons use, map reading and land navigation, armed and unarmed combat, and field maneuvers. Moore is a 2008 graduate of Lakewood High School.

Army Spec. Kemelia E. Campbell, daughter of Uly and Cynthia Campbell of Jackson, was recognized for outstanding performance at the Warrior Leaders Course by graduating on the Commandant’s List. The specialist is a power generator repairer assigned to the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Killeen, Texas. Campbell graduated from Jackson Memorial High School in 1999 and received a bachelor’s degree from Long Island University, Brooklyn, N.Y., in 2003.
