Blaise Campbell, 23, of Westampton, was charged with attempting to obtain a narcotic by forgery or deception at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 21. Police were called to Boyd’s Pharmacy on Farnsworth Avenue after Mr. Campbell tried to pass a fraudulent prescription of a oxycodone. Mr. Campbell was processed and released pending a future court date. ***
Salvatore Simpkins, 32, of Trenton, was charged with attempting to obtain a narcotic by forgery or deception and hindering his arrest by fleeing from officers around noon Feb. 17. Police were called to Boyd’s Pharmacy on Farnsworth Avenue after Mr. Simpkins tried to pass a fraudulent prescription of oxycodone. Mr. Simpkins ran from police through residential backyards. He was taken into custody in the 300 block of Prince Street.
Mr. Simpkins was processed and sent to Burlington County Jail after being unable to post $35,000 bail. ***
A 17-year-old juvenile was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia around 9:30 p.m. Feb. 20. Police observed a vehicle exit the rear parking lot of Clara Barton School, start down Hopkinson Street the wrong way, stop, turn around and go down East Burlington Street before turning onto Borden Street, where a rear passenger exited the vehicle. The vehicle then proceeded back to Hopkinson Street. Police conducted a stop and the juvenile was charged, turned over to his father and a juvenile complaint was sent to the county. ***
Brandon Camiolo, 24, of Wrightstown, was charged with two counts of possession of controlled dangerous substances and possession of drug paraphernalia around 9 p.m. Feb. 14. Police responded to the 7-Eleven store after a report that Mr. Camiolo appeared to be intoxicated or high on something. Mr. Camiolo was observed standing in an aisle of the store slumped forward with his eyes closed. Police asked Mr. Camiolo to step outside but had to tap him on the shoulder to wake him up.
Mr. Camiolo was talking in a slurred speech and walking unsteadily. He told police he was waiting for a ride to Wrightstown. Further investigation revealed that Mr. Camiolo had heroin, Xanax and a hypodermic needle in his possession. Mr. Camiolo was processed and sent to Burlington County Jail in default of $10,000 bail. ***
Shane Villa, 26, of Franklin Park, was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a breath test, reckless driving, failure to signal, resisting arrest and obstruction around 3 a.m. Feb. 19. Police observed a vehicle approaching the Route 130 and 206 red traffic light. When the light turned green the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed. The vehicle screeched as it accelerated south on Route 130 then quickly braked at the Quik Stop pulling into the parking lot. Police followed the vehicle into the parking lot as it made a 180-degree turn around the curb divider and accelerated toward the police vehicle. The stop was then conducted.
At police headquarters Mr. Villa refused to give police information for an arrest report and continually attempted to remove his handcuffs. Mr. Villa also told police he was having a heart attack and was suffering from numerous illnesses including cancer. Police then transported him to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital where he told doctor’s he didn’t know why he was there and didn’t want to be there. Mr. Villa was transported to Burlington County Jail in default of $25,000 bail.
Florence
Michael Matecha, 23, of Florence, was charged with outstanding warrants, driving an unregistered vehicle and driving on a suspended license on Feb. 22. Police observed a black Lincoln fail to stop at a stop sign and conducted a stop. Investigation revealed the driver, Mr. Matecha, had several outstanding warrants and was driving without a license. Mr. Matecha was taken into custody and later transferred to the Cinnaminson Police Department. ***
Ebony Stringer, 31, of Roebling, was charged with an outstanding warrant, driving without headlights and driving on a suspended license on Feb. 23. Police observed a vehicle driving at night without its headlights on and conducted a stop. During the stop police learned that Ms. Stringer’s license was suspended and she had an outstanding warrant out of Moorestown for $214. She was processed and released pending a new court date in Moorestown.
Mansfield
Gary Ashwood, 46, of Columbus, was charged with theft of moveable property Feb. 23. Investigation revealed that Mr. Ashwood took possession of a cell phone that was owned by Mansfield Township and designated for use by the Public Works Department. The cell phone was taken from inside of a township garbage truck and valued at approximately $100. Mr. Ashwood was processed and transferred to Burlington County Jail in default of $500 bail.
