MANALAPAN — Township officials have announced Manalapan’s third annual photo contest. The 2011 theme is “Celebrations” – a broad theme that will be looking for pictures depicting a celebration of some nature.
The contest is open to all Manalapan residents, but photographs do not need to be taken in Manalapan. The photograph could be of any event that in the eyes of the photographer is a celebration.
“We encourage all Manalapan residents to consider submitting a photo. Whether it is of a family event, a competitive event or just the simple celebration of a sunrise, all photos are welcome. We want to make it as difficult as possible on our judges,” Mayor Andrew Lucas said.
“I am appreciative of the Manalapan Arts Council assuming the stewardship of the contest again this year and want to personally thank Judith Tolchin and Barbara Miller for agreeing to co-chair the project. I still look at the photos from the 2010 contest which are displayed in our meeting room and am so impressed with the talents of this community,” Lucas said.
Residents can only enter one photo. Photographs must include a brief description (25 words or less) and the location/event of the photo. Awards will be given in the following categories: Under-12, 12-17, and adult (18 and over).
Photographs must be received by 4:30 p.m. May 13. Photographs can be submitted by email to [email protected] (file must be less than 1.5mb) or dropped off at the Manalapan Health Department (photographic prints must not be larger than 5×7).
Find rules at www.mtnj.org, or at the Manalapan administration office or health department. A submission form must accompany the photograph. Forms are also available on the township website or at the administration office or health department.
