Camp Middlesex slates March 6 open house

Acamp fair showcasing the summer program at Camp Middlesex will be held 1-4 p.m. Sunday, March 1, in the Technical Services Center on the Edison campus. The open house will offer an opportunity for prospective campers and their parents to meet the staff, learn about the programs and register. Araffle will also be held for a $100 gift certificate to be applied to camp tuition.

Children ages 6 to 18 years old can learn about the many special-interest camps offered, which include theater, robotics, chess, magic, karate, sports, video game creation, art, cooking, fashion and computers. New programs include digital photography, making movies, how to be a disc jockey, the science behind special effects, baking cupcakes, and many, many more.

Each session runs for one week, mornings or afternoons, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1 to 5 p.m. Most pick two camps for a full-day experience. There is also a pre-camp option starting at 7:30 a.m. and an after-camp program that goes until 6 p.m.

The cost varies by program, but most are $175 per half-day camp.
