LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Schools thanked

George and Marty Goodrich, Isabella Aboagye, proprietress of Rising Star Academy
In 2008 we went to the Adansi-North District of Ashanti-Region in Ghana. At that time we visited the Rising Star Academy. The school was founded in 2007 by Isabella Aboagye due to the need of price affordable education. Because of simple improvements in the school, including building more classrooms, faculty, supplies and books, the school has grown to two hundred students.
Since our visit to the Rising Star Academy we have taken as many opportunities as we could to collect school supplies, teaching supplies, story/reading books, games, and toys for the students, ages 4 to 15.
This past month the John Hydock School and the Mansfield Elementary School offered to collect supplies for Rising Star Academy as a service project. Never did we expect such a tremendous response. THANK YOU to the children, parents, and staff of the two schools. A special thank you to Mrs. Bonnie Dunn and Mrs. Lynn Schafer for the tremendous amount of work they did in coordinating the project.
Bless you all for your kindness.
