The Secret’s Out: Philadelphia Hadassah’s Spring Gala to Feature
a ‘Real Housewives’ Star, a Real Talk Show Host, and a Real Advice Columnist
PHILADELPHIA, March 17 Hadassah of Greater Philadelphia will hold its annual Spring Gala, “Secrets of a Jewish Mother,” at Penn Valley’s Har Zion Temple at 6:30 p.m. on April 5.
Those attending will enter a “secret garden” where they will enjoy dinner and a program featuring a celebrity mother-daughter trio and co-authors of Secrets of a Jewish Mother: Real Advice, Real Stories, Real Love:
·      Daughter Jill Zarin, star of the Bravo reality TV series “Real Housewives of New York City”
·      Daughter Lisa Wexler, award-winning host of “The Lisa Wexler Show” on WSTC/WNLK radio in Connecticut
·      Mother Gloria Kamen, advice columnist for the New York Daily News
“We are so excited to bring such high-profile women to Philadelphia for this Hadassah event,” said co-chair Lori Levin. “It’s a real coup for us – this level of entertainment is what you’d expect to find at a Hadassah national convention.”
“We’re all mothers or daughters, so everyone can relate to this program,” said co-chair Sharon Taffet. “What makes this program so appealing is that, while the women will share their own pearls of wisdom, their personalities will make it an incredibly entertaining evening.”
The guest speakers will touch on universal topics – family, finding love, friendship, money, career, health and beauty.
Attendees will have the chance to buy raffle tickets for a wide variety of gift packages, many worth hundreds and even thousands of dollars. “The business community has been extremely generous in donating prizes for this event,” said President Jill Goldstone. “More than 50 women have volunteered their time and effort to serve on the planning committee, so this event promises to be a memorable one.”
Couvert for the event is $96 for members, $118 for non-members. Cost is $180 to attend both the 5:30 p.m. Meet-and-Greet event with the authors and the dinner program. Checks should be made payable to “Hadassah” and mailed to: Hadassah, 1518 Walnut Street, Suite 555, Philadelphia, PA 19102.
Firstrust Bank, a longtime supporter of Hadassah of Greater Philadelphia, is the premier sponsor for this event. “Hadassah has been dedicated to improving the quality of American and Jewish life for its members and surrounding communities for nearly a century,” said Richard J. Green, vice chairman and CEO. “At Firstrust, we are honored to continue our support and the good works this organization does in our community.”
