Fourth-grade students at Woodland Elementary School in Monroe recently participated in two Rutgers Family Science Nights. About 60 families engaged in the hands-on science activities. The evening began with several mini-exploration openers. Then, the children and their parents built tall structures with dowels and graphed the diameter of bubbles that they blew. Analyzing data, measuring, recognizing variables and making models were just some of the scientific skills that the participants explored. Pictured (l-r) are Amanda Antonacci, Julia Guerin and Lauren Young inside the structure that they created.
