LITTLE SILVER — Red Bank Regional (RBR) Visual and Performing Art majors will present the Spring Dance Concert at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 29, in the RBR Theater, 110 Ridge Road, Little Silver. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. The spring show features an eclectic mix of dance styles, including hip hop, modern, tap and contemporary numbers.
The program includes 27 numbers performed by 33 dancers. Several pieces are choreographed by guest choreographers, including Elysha Richman, an RBR 2003 alumna. Richman is a professional dance instructor and choreographer who most recently choreographed the half-time show for the Harlem Globetrotters. One of her numbers is the finale with the entire company titled “Moment for Life,” a hip-hop and lyrical piece. Other guest choreographers include RBR 1999 alumnus Lawrence Edwards, Rosemary Boross, Gabrielle Barnett, and Alex Vari, a dance instructor.
Most pieces are choreographed by the students. Senior Shea Savaria, of Belmar, and Anthony Tiedemen, of Red Bank, choreographed the energetic opening number “Alice in Wonderland,” featuring the entire company.
