 A fishing contest, hosted for the 36th year by the Ocean County Parks and Recreation Department, will be held from 8 a.m. to noon May 7 at Lake Shenandoah County Park, Lakewood.  DeBows United Methodist Church, corner of Route 537 and Route 571, Jackson, will host a flea market from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 7. Featured will be a plant sale, a bake sale, food including homemade soup, a car wash, and a variety of items to buy. Tables may be rented for $15 per table. Bring your own table.  A movie event will be held at the Jackson Library, 2 Jackson Drive, Jackson, at 2 p.m. May 12. The film being shown stars Russell Crowe as John Forbes Nash Jr., a math prodigy who is able to solve nearly impossible problems. The story shows Nash’s rise and fall through schizophrenia.
