MONROE — Township Police Capt. Michael E. Lloyd has graduated from the 245th session of the FBI National Academy.
Lloyd, the first officer from the township police department to attend the academy, underwent an intensive background and medical screening process prior to being accepted into the academy, located in Quantico, Va. Acceptance is by invitation only, through a nomination process.
Lloyd was one of 246 graduates, representing various law enforcement agencies from all 50 states as well as 23 countries and three branches of the U.S. military.
Lloyd and his classmates resided at the academy for the 10-week program.
According to the FBI, the program offers “advanced investigative, management and fitness training for select senior management officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies.” The program is offered free of charge to the select students and their agencies.
