Talk, music, crafts set at Art After Hours

The next installment in Art After Hours: First Wednesdays at the Zimmerli, is planned for 5-9 p.m. July 6 at the Jane Voorhees ZimmerliArt Museum, 71 Hamilton St., New Brunswick.

Jazz performances by Leslie Ford and Group LLC are set for 6-6:30 p.m. and 7:15-7:45 p.m.

Alison Morley, Documentary Photography and Photojournalism Programs, International Center of Photography, New York, will present a talk at 6:30 p.m. on the museum’s exhibition “A View of Caring” and the ongoing tradition of “concerned photography.”

Artist and educator Linda Smith will explore the crafts of the developing world in the form of an ongoing walk-in demonstration of macramé, the making of hemp bracelets and elements of Ojo De Dios (God’s Eye), a form of Hispanic-American weaving, 6-8:45 p.m.

Complimentary refreshments will be served. Participants will receive a 20 percent discount on purchases in the museum store. There will be docent-led tours of the museum’s permanent collections.
