OCEAN TOWNSHIP — Monmouth County has scheduled a summer papershredding event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, July 22, at the Ocean Township Elementary School, 555 Dow Ave., Oakhurst.
“Monmouth County residents can get rid of their confidential files and documents safely at this event,” Freeholder Thomas A. Arnone said in a press release. “This summer paper-shredding day is one more opportunity for residents to reduce their potential for identity theft and by supporting responsible paper disposal.”
County residents may bring up to 100 pounds of paper to be shredded. The shredding event will stop once the shredding truck is full. All papers will be shredded on location in the mobile truck. Documents should be free of large binder clips; staples and paper clips may be left on documents.
“Each of the county’s paper-shredding events yields between 4 to 6 tons of paper,” Arnone said. “This is an ongoing shared-service project of the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders and our partner municipalities. We are pleased to help residents responsibly dispose of this paper.”
