MOMS Club begins annual school supply drive in Plumsted

PLUMSTED — On Aug. 1 the MOMS Club of New Egypt will begin its annual “Pack the Sack” service project to help children in the community who cannot afford school supplies.

The project will run Aug. 1-27. According to a press release, last year local business operators and residents came together and donated supplies for 52 backpacks that students in Plumsted’s schools needed.

So far this year, the MOMS Club has received donations from the New Egypt Marketplace and the Yuletide Tree Farm. The Plumsted Pharmacy has also committed to donate school supplies, according to the press release.

Items needed are backpacks, pencils, pens, dry-erase markers, mini staplers, looseleaf paper, binders, highlighters, selfstick notes, index cards, glue sticks, spiral notebooks, pocket folders, TI34 calculators, flash drives, erasers, composition notebooks and dictionaries.

The donation drop-off locations will be at the Plumsted Library on Evergreen Road and the New Egypt post office on Main Street.

Anyone making a monetary donation so that school supplies can be purchased may contact the MOMS Club by sending an email to [email protected].
