POLICE BEAT: Week of Aug. 4

Robbinsville
   Police reported that sometime between Friday and Monday morning $6,700 worth of construction power equipment was removed from a company’s construction trailer on Circle Drive. IEW Construction reported the burglary and theft.

   A 19-year-old West Windsor resident was charged Sunday night with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, according to police. Weiss Bentson of Warwick Road was in a car on Patricia Lane at 7:25 p.m. Sunday when police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle. Investigating Patrolman Thomas Paglione reported the odor of burned marijuana in the car. His check revealed a glass jar containing what police believe to be marijuana, a marijuana cigarette inside a pack of cigrarettes and an open contained of alcohol. Mr. Bentson was processed at police headquarters and released pending a court hearing.

   A Trenton resident, Duy Duc Vu, 20, faces drug and alcohol charges after a 12:20 p.m. single vehicle crash at Route 130 and North Gold Drive on Saturday. Police responded to the crash site and detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. According to the police report, officers found in the vehicle a clear plastic bag containing what police believe to be marijuana, rolling papers and a partially smoked marijuana cigarette along with an open container of alcohol. Charges included possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of CDS in a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of alcohol in a motor vehicle and being under the influence of a narcotic. The suspect was processed at police headquarters and released pending a court appearance.

   Police responded to the report of a burglary and theft from a motor vehicle on Windmere Path. A Garmin GPS unit and some loose change was taken from the unlocked car overnight Friday or Saturday. The value of the stolen goods was estimated at $300.

   Lucas Construction reported to police that overnight July 28 or the morning of July 29 someone took steel from a construction site on Windsor Road. Value of the steel was placed at $1,800.

   A Hamilton woman was arrested and charged with drug and alcohol violations after police stopped her car for various violations just after midnight on July 27 on I-95 near Exit 6. Police charged Lauryn Clayton, 23, of Braver Drive with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of a CDS in a motor vehicle and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle. She was processed at police headquarters and released pending a court date.

   Two Hamilton residents were charged with drug violations after their car was stopped for various violations at 12:13 a.m. July 26 at Route 33 and Washington Boulevard, police reported. Lacey Arnold, 20, of Versailles Court and Sarah Brooks, 20, of Marshall Avenue were charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a prescription drug. They were processed at police headquarters and released pending a court date.
Upper Freehold
   Officials at the Horse Park of New Jersey reported to State Police that a 1986 Ford pickup truck used for work around the park was stolen on July 28. State Police are continuing to investigate.
