 Jersey Shore Nuclear Watch will host a meeting to discuss what it calls similar design flaws at the Oyster Creek nuclear power plant in Lacey Township and the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Toms River library, 101 Washington St., Toms River. “Update on the Nuclear Threat to the United States” will be presented by Michael Mariotte, executive director of the Nuclear Information and Resource Service.  A comedy night hosted by the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Lakewood Lodge Elks No. 1432, 711 West Kennedy Blvd., Lakewood. The night’s headliner will be Joseph Anthony. Admission of $25 per person includes a spaghetti, meatball and sausage dinner. Karaoke will follow the comedy show.
