The Chris Cooper Scholarship Fund will hold its first Cooper Classic Car Show 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 24 at Burke’s Park, Washington Road, Sayreville. Rain date is Oct. 2.
The event will feature the show, raffles, a 50/50, food, trophies, vendors, a DJ and live music by Kaotic Control.
Car registration is $10 in advance, $15 on the day of the show. Spectators will be admitted free of charge.
The show will raise money for the scholarship fund, named in honor of Cooper, a 1999 Old Bridge High School (OBHS) graduate who pitched for the high school baseball team and died as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in 2003. Proceeds will help an OBHS boys baseball player and an OBHS girls softball player attend college.
