On Oct. 13 from 4 to 6 p.m., the Jacqueline M. Wilentz Breast Center, 59 Kent Road, Howell, will hold a public open house in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. During the open house, members of the public are welcome to stop in to the breast center to walk through the center, meet the staff, and learn more about what they can do to protect themselves from breast cancer. In addition, appointments can be made to have a screening or diagnostic mammogram at the Howell center. Fresh apple cider, compliments of Delicious Orchards, Colts Neck, light fare and giveaways will be provided to all in attendance. A business expo hosted by the Greater Monmouth Chamber of Commerce and CentraState Healthcare System will be held 4-8 p.m. Nov. 7 at CentraState Medical Center’s Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus, 901 W. The Hire a Veteran Job Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 9 in recognition of Veterans Day. Businesses or organizations seeking qualified men and women returning to the work force after serving in the military may rent exhibit tables at the event.

Through the efforts of Toms River dentist Dr. Ron Rotem, Reynolds Marketing, and Greater Media Radio New Jersey, veterans will have an opportunity to seek employment directly from employers, attend employment-related workshops, and find out about personal services available to them in a Veteran’s Resource Room at the job fair.

The Hire a Veteran Job Fair will be held at the Merri-Makers catering facility at the PNC Bank Reception Center, Exit 116 off the Garden State Parkway, Holmdel. Exhibit tables are available for $200 each to those employers seeking well-qualified men and women in the military who have returned home.

The $200 fee will be donated to the G.I. Go Fund, a nonprofit troop support organization that helps military veterans and their spouses find jobs.
