Mr. Daut, 76, of Jackson, died Nov. 12, 2011, at home. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Arts degree in education from Montclair University, Upper Montclair. Prior to retiring, Mr. Daut was employed as a teacher for the Jackson School District for 30 years. He was predeceased by a sister, Martha Royce, of Port Orange, Fla. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Brenda (McInerney) Daut; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Debra and Joseph Kraft of Jackson, Donna and Kevin Scattergood of Jackson, and Dawn O’Brien of Ormond Beach, Fla; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Joseph Daut of Ormond Beach, John Daut of Jackson, and Jeffery and AlysiaArena Daut of Jackson; a sister, Diane, and her husband, Joseph Nies, of Newfoundland; and 12 grandchildren. A funeral service was celebrated at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Jackson, followed by a private cremation. Arrangements were by the George S. Hassler Funeral Home, Jackson.
