Residents may apply for seat on school board

PLUMSTED — The Plumsted School District Board of Education is seeking a resident who wants to fill a vacancy on the seven-member panel.

Aseat on the school board opened when Herb Marinari was recently appointed to complete an unexpired term on the Township Committee. A resident may not serve on both local bodies at the same time.

In order to be considered for appointment to the school board, a resident must be able to read and write; must have been a resident of the Plumsted School District for a year; have no conflicts of interest with the board; must be registered to vote in the district; and must not be a member of the municipal governing body.

Marinari had served on the school board at various times since 1983.

Residents who are interested in being considered for an appointment to the school board should send their résumé and a letter of interest to Sean Gately, business administrator, Plumsted School District, 117 Evergreen Road, New Egypt, NJ 08533 by 4 p.m. Jan. 11.
