Ms. McCarthy, 56, of Manchester, died Dec. 23, 2011, at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. She was born with a genetic disorder and lived independently for 30 years in a group home setting. She was predeceased by five siblings, Kathryn, Mary Lou, Theresa, Susan and Charles. Surviving are two sisters, Eileen R. McCarthy of Manchester and Peggy H. Matusz and her husband, Thomas, of Jackson; and many other family members. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Perrineville, followed by interment in the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. Arrangements were by the George S. Hassler Funeral Home, Jackson.
