Mr. Holmes, 95, of Marlboro, died Jan. 13, 2012, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II. Prior to retiring in 1979, Mr. Holmes was employed as a fire chief at Marlboro State Psychiatric Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife, Marie Miles Holmes, in 2008. Surviving are a son, Dewey Holmes, of Howell; and a daughter and son-in-law, Laura and William Hogan, of Marlboro. A funeral service was held at the Old Brick Reformed Church, Marlboro, followed by interment at the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Open Door of Freehold, P.O.
