Novelist, singer coming to library

Suzzy Roche, who has toured and recorded with her sisters Maggie and Terre as part of the singing group The Roches, will appear at the Toms River branch of the Ocean County Library to discuss her debut novel, ”Wayward Saints.”

Roche will speak in the library’s Mancini Hall, 101 Washington St., 7 p.m. Feb. 27. According to the press release, “Wayward Saints” is filled with characters who are wild and original, yet seem familiar to the reader. It presents insights into the music scene, mother-daughter bonds, family relationships, friendship and the challenges of going home again.

The novel was released on Jan. 17, 2012.

The Roches’ first recording was named Album of the Year by The New York Times in 1979. They have appeared on “Saturday Night Live,” “The Late Show with David Letterman,” and “The Tonight Show” with Johnny Carson. They have collaborated with Paul Simon, The Indigo Girls, Philip Glass, and Laurie Anderson.

The program is free and open to the public, but registration is required. For more information or to register for this program, call 732-349-6200 or 609-971-0514 or go to www.theoceancountylibrary.org.
