• The Jackson Veterans of Foreign Wars will host Spring Ham Shoots at 1 p.m. Sundays from March 11 to May 13 (excluding April 8 for Easter). This is one of two of friendly 12-gauge shotgun shoots that the Jackson VFW holds annually in which people compete to get the most pellets into the center of a paper target. (A turkey shoot held from September through November). The person with the most hits in the black of the bull’s-eye will win a 10- to 14-pound ham to take home. Homemade food and drinks will be provided by the LadiesAuxiliary. All proceeds will support the VFW post, local soldiers and their families, and the Jackson community. • Plumsted Township Senior Outreach Services will host Mayor David Leutwyler from 10 a.m. to noon March 14 in the SOS community meeting room in the Plumsted municipal building, Evergreen Road, New Egypt. Refreshments will be served. Details: 609- 758-2241, ext 111.
