Months of work at Wall Stadium Speedway in Wall Township have been completed and hours of fine-tuning in area race car shops are nearing an end, all in preparation for the first event of the 2012 Saturday night professional stock car racing season on the evening ofApril 28. Modified, Sportsman, Street Stock, Legend Cars and Factory Stock racers will all be on theWall Stadium Speedway card with grandstand seating opening at 3 p.m. and the first race set to take the green flag at 5 p.m. sharp.
Local drivers who will be challenging for division supremacy this season include Chas Okerson of Freehold, Steven Reed of Freehold and Ken Woolley Jr. of Howell in the Modified ranks, and Kevin Eyres of Colts Neck, Eric Mauriello of Howell, Shawna Ingraham of Brick Township, and Kevin Davison of Howell in the Sportsman division.
An “On Track Party” will be held 4-5 p.m. Racing action on the one-third-mile paved oval will begin at 5 p.m. with qualifying events, to be followed by feature race action in five divisions.
