The Spotswood Police Department will be participating in an unused or expired drug drop-off in conjunction with the Druf Enforcement Agency. Anyone who has any unused or expired drugs may drop them off with police from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 28 in the Spotswood Municipal Building lobby, 77 Summerhill Road, and they will be disposed of properly.
There is no paperwork involved; simply drop off the items and leave. No syringes will be accepted. Participants are encouraged to remove any personal information from the containers.
The goal of the program is to allow citizens to rid their homes of unwanted, unused or expired medications by giving them to law enforcement personnel who will dispose of the substances in a safe and nonhazardous manner, thus preventing the drugs from falling into the hands of juveniles or unintended individuals.
