Mrs. Kern, 78, of Cliffwood Beach, died May 18, 2012, while vacationing with her family in Avon, N.C. She was a member of both Keyport and St. Clement’s seniors. Mrs. Kern was predeceased by two husbands, James Wallace and Harry Kern, and a sister, Dolores Hand Armstrong. Surviving are her children, Arlene Davis and her husband, Steve, of Cliffwood Beach, Beverly Toribio and her husband, Dennis, of Phillipsburg, Carol Bennett and her husband, Larry, of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., and James Wallace and his wife, Chris, of Mount Bethel, Pa.; seven grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; her siblings, Joyce Leto and her husband, Charles, of Ocala, Fla., Mary Venezia and her husband, William, of Cliffwood Beach, Robert Hand and his wife, Barbara, of Appomattox, Va., and Frank Erickson and his wife, Fran, of Union; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Amemorial visitation was held at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Hazlet. She was privately cremated.
