Mr. Thompson, 75, of Sophia, N.C., formerly of Jackson, died May 24, 2012, at Hospice Home at High Point, High Point, N.C. He attended Lakewood High School and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Prior to retiring, Mr. Thompson was employed as an automotive technician specialist for Davis Chevrolet, Lexington, N.C. Before that, he was a real estate agent for the Berg Agency, Freehold, and the owner and operator of Junior’s Gas and Service Station, Cream Ridge section of Upper Freehold. He was predeceased by a brother, Donald Durell Thompson. Surviving are two daughters, Wendy Ann Hall and Tamara K. Jarvis, both of Michigan; a brother, Stanley L. Thompson of Newport, Tenn.; two sisters, Mildred Trimmer of Jackson and Joyce Conk and her husband, Edwin, of Freehold Township; and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, followed by interment in Harmony Cemetery, Jackson.
