Madi Beggs, 12, of Howell, died June 4, 2012, at home after a courageous battle with cancer. She graduated from the Land O’ Pines School, Howell, where she was in the gifted and talented program. She was attending Howell Middle School North, enrolled in the Project Plus Program. Madi played soccer for the Howell Soccer Club and was a member of Troop 1980, Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore. Surviving are her mother, Mae N. Beggs; a brother, Richard M. “Richie” Beggs Jr.; her father, Richard M. Beggs; a half-sister, Amanda Beggs; her maternal grandparents, Norman and Grace Atwater of Anderson, S.C.; and several other relatives. A funeral Mass was held at the Church of St. Veronica, Howell, followed by interment in Old Tennent Cemetery, Manalapan. Arrangements were by the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township.
