The Freehold chapter of LeTip, a business to business networking group, holds an annual scholarship competition to help fund the college education of high school students. This year, three seniors from three high schools were awarded scholarships.
The winners were Katie Villany from Colts Neck High School, Amanda Rubin from Marlboro High School, and Eric Cherin from Manalapan High School. The total amount of scholarships was $3,500.
LeTip is a business to business networking group that has more than 500 chapters throughout North America. With 105 members, the largest chapter is the Freehold LeTip chapter. The chapter meets on Thursday at 6:55 a.m. at the American Hotel, Main Street, Freehold.
4 PawsAnimal Hospital in Englishtown recently celebrated its 10,000th client. The lucky patient — a boxer puppy — was treated to a free visit. Dr Scott Turk and Dr Darren Weisenstein opened their hospital in Englishtown in January 2005. The hospital is open seven days a week.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held on June 15 to mark the official start of construction for a shopping center to be anchored by Whole Foods Market and Walgreens at the corner of Route 9 south and Route 520, Marlboro.
The developer, Pagano Real Estate of Bergen County, along with Marlboro officials and representatives of Whole Foods Market, were on hand for the occasion.
Marlboro Commons will also include the existing PNC Bank, Verizon Wireless and a variety of other national retailers. The 100,000-square-foot shopping center is scheduled to begin opening retailers in the spring of 2013.
TheWhole Foods Market will be 40,000 square feet and the Walgreens will be 14,820 square feet.
