Preseason drilling comes to end
The Hillsborough High School Raider Marching Band spends the last week in August at band camp in Pennsylvania.
Five long days are spent perfecting a performance drill for the year. In 2011, the hard work paid off when Hillsborough won the Group V Open New Jersey State Championships.
This year, upon their return from camp, the band and color guard performed their 2012 show, entitled “The Edge,” for family and friends on the football field.
The Hillsborough Raider Marching Band performs at all football games as well as a competition schedule that starts Saturday, Sept. 29, at Piscataway High School. In the middle of the season, on Oct. 13, Hillsborough Band Parents Association will host the 19th annual Raider Marching Band Festival at Hillsborough High School.
