Police believe they have the man that allegedly robbed a New Brunswick taxi driver five weeks ago.
Police charged township resident Tcho Savage, 28, with robbing the cab driver in the early morning hours of Sept. 13.
Police said that the taxi picked up Mr. Savage on George Street in New Brunswick at around 3:30 a.m. near the Rutgers dorms.
Mr. Savage then allegedly directed the driver to Gary Court in Dayton where he produced a knife and robbed the driver of cash and then fled the scene, leaving the driver uninjured, police said.
Detective Ken Herman used several tips from members of the community to identify Mr. Savage in the case, according to police.
He was lodged at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick on $100,000 bail
