Confesor, Minot capture Reservoir Run victories

The Monmouth County Park System’s annual Manasquan Reservoir 5-mile run was won by Angel Confesor of Brooklyn, N.Y.

Confesor ran around the reservoir trail in Howell in 29:05.5 on Sept. 23 to win by just under a minute. He was the only runner under 30 minutes.

Tammy Minot of Wilmington, Del., finished 10th overall in 36:10.1 and was the winner of the women’s race. Hawthorne’s Wendy Kerr ran 36:12.8 for 11th place overall and second among women.

Rounding out the top 10 between Confesor and Minot were Pat Ford, Neptune City, (30:14.1), Dave Hallman, Wrightstown, (30:38.1), Justin Mann, Marlboro, (31:08.6), Ken Shater, Middletown, (31:23.6), Jack Goh, Ocean, (33:38.3), Thoms McDonald, Fair Lawn, (34:34.8), Jacinto Segura, Brick Township, (35:33.3) and John Fraebel, Morganville, (35:39.6).

Farmingdale’s Marian Westley (39:48.5) was third in the women’s race.

Completing the women’s top 10 were Andrea Olsen, Tinton Falls, (40:04.6), Patricia Chambers, Morganville, (40:25.8), Sherri Sulia, Cookstown, (40:48.3), Doreen Page, Manalapan, (41:25.3), Lyn DeAngelo, Cream Ridge, (41:38.3), Lisa Joseph, Jackson, (41:50.8) and Rachel Kenny, Matawan, (42:06.1).

On Nov. 3, Tatum Park in Middletown will be the site for the Woods Hollow Classic Bike Race. This race, held on the open fields and woodlands of the park, is for beginners (7.5 miles) and more experienced riders (11.25 miles).
