 The Jackson Food Pantry, 10 Don Conner Boulevard, Jackson, is in need of donations to accommodate this year’s holiday needs. Turkeys, hams and other holiday food can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 10 (community volunteer stocking day and Boy Scout Food drive); 8:30 a.m. to noon Nov. 13; and 1-3 p.m. Nov. 14. The Thanksgiving distribution will be held 5-6:30 p.m. Nov. 14 for seniors and the disabled, and 5-7 p.m. Nov. 15 for all other clients. Details: 732-833-6800.

 Drop-In Open Playtime, a new program for preschoolers ages 1-6, will be offered 2-3:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Jackson Library, 2 Jackson Drive. The unstructured program is designed to provide an opportunity for preschoolers to develop and have fun in a community play space. Parents/caregivers participate with their children at all times.  Join Detective Jose Rivera of the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office as he explains how and why the polygraph works at 7 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Plumsted Library, 119 Evergreen Road, New Egypt.
