Mr. and Mrs. Milton Fisher of East Brunswick recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. The couple was married Aug. 21, 1952, in Margate, England.
In honor of their anniversary, the Fishers opted for several small, private celebrations. A June dinner cruise featuring a view of the New York City skyline commemorated their New York civil marriage ceremony. A luncheon in August at the Jersey Shore was a reminder of their religious wedding ceremony and reception, which took place by the sea in England. There were other celebratory gatherings with their children and grandchildren, including a brunch hosted by their daughters, Leslie Fisher and Andrea Fisher, for the Fishers and their grandchildren.
Mrs. Fisher was employed by East Brunswick Public Schools and Rutgers University, New Brunswick, before retiring. She was a volunteer art teacher at Rahway State Prison (East Jersey State Prison).
Prior to his retirement, her husband was president of Knauers Furs, East Brunswick, for 37 years. He is active in the Marine Corps League and its volunteer, fundraising activities.
The Fishers enjoy foreign films, foreign travel, reading, swimming, tai chi and Ji Gong. They are volunteers with Meals on Wheels. The couple has four children, Mark R. Fisher of Greenwich, Conn.; Andrea L. Fisher of Teaneck; Leslie A. Fisher of Manalapan; and Jon R. Fisher of Vero Beach, Fla.
Mrs. and Mrs. Fisher have six grandchildren.
