Fans of the Stone Pony will be relieved to know the historic club made it through superstorm Sandy and is open for business.
Local band Turkey Swamp will perform at the Stone Pony, 913 Ocean Ave., Asbury Park, on Nov. 17.
Grateful Dead tribute band Splintered Sunlight will headline the show, which will also feature the band Sweet Vita. Tickets for the all ages show are $15. Doors will open at 7 p.m. For more information, visit www.turkeyswamp.net.
Turkey Swamp plays what the band calls “dirty, wholesome rock ’n’ roll songs” written by Freehold natives Matt Geraci and Chris Goetke, with Mike “The Rock” Rockney on drums.
The band has been in existence for 14 years, with various drummers. In addition to performing at the Stone Pony in the past, Turkey Swamp has performed in many clubs in New York and New Jersey.
“This is gonna be really cool,” said Goetke, talking about the Stone Pony show. “Our music is very righteous, very real. It’s real rock ’n’ roll and we are thankful to be able to play together and write the songs. We are really blessed to come together as a band and as musicians.”
