Taking Back Sunday will present a hurricane relief concert Nov. 25 at Pine Belt Arena, Toms River. PHOTO COURTESY OF WWW.TAKINGBACKSUNDAY.NET The rock group Taking Back Sunday will perform a concert to benefit the Toms River Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund on Nov. 25 at 7 p.m. in the Pine Belt Arena, 1245 Old Freehold Road, Toms River. A portion of ticket sales will benefit residents devastated by Hurricane Sandy.
Taking Back Sunday will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of its breakthrough release, “Tell All Your Friends,” by performing the album in its entirety.
“We’re devastated to see all of the damage this natural disaster caused in our community and the communities around us, but it is always inspiring to see people come together and push forward,” bassist Shaun Cooper said.
The band was originally scheduled to perform at the Starland Ballroom, Sayreville, on Nov. 16 and 25, but the venue was damaged by Hurricane Sandy and the shows were canceled. Taking Back Sunday’s canceled shows are now being relocated and combined into one “megashow” with Bayside, The Menzingers and Kenny Truhn scheduled as the opening acts. Customers with tickets marked for either of Taking Back Sunday’s canceled shows at the Starland Ballroom will have their tickets honored at the Pine Belt Arena show.
For fans holding Starland tickets but unable to attend the concert at the Pine Belt Arena, refunds will be accepted until Nov. 19 at 10 p.m. If concertgoers bought their tickets online or via phone, they may call 800-745- 3000 to obtain refunds.
Those who bought tickets from a Ticketmaster retail outlet should return their tickets to those locations for refunds. Those who bought tickets from the Starland Ballroom Box Office should wait for information on the box office’s reopening. Starland Box Office customers will not be subject to the Nov. 19 deadline.
