NJAR Realtor and Realtor-Associate of the Year Awarded

çDuring an awards session at the Triple Play Realtor Convention and Trade Expo in Atlantic City, the New Jersey Association of Realtors (NJAR) named its annual Realtor of the Year and Realtor-Associate of the Year. Two NJAR members were recognized for their contributions to the real estate industry, their commitment to the Realtor organization, and their involvement in their local communities.

Ronald L. Woods of Lenny, Vermaat & Leonard Inc., Realtors in Haddonfield received the Realtor of the Year award. The Realtor-Associate of the Year award went to Diane M. McCarty of Gloria Nilson, Realtors, Real Living in Holmdel. Winners of the NJAR awards are selected from among the Realtor and Realtor-Associate of the Year winners of the local Realtor boards and associations in New Jersey.

“In order to receive such a prestigious award, the individuals must exceed in all aspects of the Realtor profession and community involvement,” said 2012 NJAR President Gary Large. “I am proud to say that this year’s winners go above and beyond when it comes to professionalism and community involvement, and they serve as examples to us all.”

Woods was nominated for the award in recognition of his involvement with the Realtor organization at various levels, as well as his community service activities. At the national level, he served as a member of the delegate body for 2010. On a state level, Woods serves as a member of the board of directors and the bylaws committee. Woods served as 2011 president of his local association, the Burlington Camden County Association of Realtors. On a local level he is a member of various committees including strategic planning and has held numerous chairman roles throughout the years.

Along with his industry involvement, Woods also participates in community service activities. He is currently serving as a trustee and treasurer for the South Jersey Charitable Foundation. He is a member of the Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale and is an active member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, in which he served on several committees and is now a member of the Property Committee.

McCarty was nominated for the Realtor Associate of the Year award in recognition of her dedication to the community and her “Realtor Spirit.” On a state level, McCarty has been part of the NJAR Equal Opportunity/Cultural Diversity Committee since 2006, and she has been its co-chair since 2008. During her time with this committee, McCarty helped raise thousands of dollars and donations for those in need. She is currently a member of the Monmouth County Association of Realtors Public Relations Committee. She has served on that local committee, as well as the associates and equal opportunity committees, in years past.

McCarty has volunteered her time with the local school Parent Teacher Association (PTA), where she has held the leadership roles of vice president and co-president of the high school PTA. She also took part in the Holmdel United Community Church of Christ, in the Bridges program, which provided coats to the homeless near or under the bridges in New Jersey and New York. She also has volunteered many years for Holmdel Community Day and the Colts Neck Fair.
