Windansea’s “Community Unity” event supports Sandy relief

HIGHLANDS – Windansea and eight local bands will host a rock ‘n’ roll benefit beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29, to benefit Hope for Highlands and Sea Bright Rising. Tickets are $30 each and can be reserved by calling 908-601-3637.

“Windansea wants to give back, many of our neighbors and friends are struggling and we are personally committed to helping them out. I am hoping on Dec. 29 to give a hand-up to those most in need,” Dan Shields, co-owner of Windansea said in a press release.

AJ Dumm of the G Band added, “Local musicians across New Jersey feel a commitment to the Shore. It is just natural for us to support Highlands and Sea Bright. Those communities have always been there for us.”

The music event will kick off at 4 p.m. and continue until 3 a.m. with the following band line-up:

G-Band, Weathered Soul, Jukebox Criminals, Thom White and the Rogues, Racing Time, 3 Sheets to the Wind, XOl Azul, Two Speed (James McGill and T of Lifespeed). DJ Entertainment by This Is It Entertainment.

All the bands are donating their time to the fundraiser and all proceeds from ticket sales will be donated directly to Hope for Highlands and Sea Bright Rising.
