CHAPTER A
   At our January meeting, our 2013 officers were installed. Congratulations to all of them!
   We look forward to an active and enjoyable year. Our new president, Lou Possemato, encouraged the membership to participate in the trips offered.
   A reminder to all that our Chapter A bulletin board hangs in the meeting room near the rear door. Feel free to post any items of interest, i.e. newspaper clippings, pictures, jokes, etc., you would like to share with other members.
   Chapter A meetings start at 12:30 with doors open at 11:30, allowing time to review upcoming events. Refreshments are served after the meeting. Members may at any time contribute kitchen supplies — coffee, decaf, napkins, plastic sandwich bags, etc. All Hillsborough seniors are invited and may join the club at any meeting. Dues are $5 a year.
   Executive Board meetings are the fourth Wednesday of every month. President Possemato’s phone is 908-369-4474.
   Upcoming events:
   Tues., Feb. 12 — “Butterflies are Free” at the Hunterdon Hills Playhouse near Clinton. Departure from Kohl’s parking lot at 10:15 a.m. Cost is $60 (less if driving your own vehicle).
   Thurs., Feb. 21 — Hillsborough Senior Bingo, hosted by Chapter B, at 11:30 a.m. at the Municipal Building. Hot dog lunch is $3. Ticket is required. An additional two cards may be played for a total cost of $5.
   Thurs., March 14 — “St. Patrick’s Day Celebration” at Doolan’s in Spring Lake. Departure from Kohl’s parking lot at 10 a.m. Cost is $82.
   Wed., April 10 — Appreciation lunch at the Municipal Building at 11:30 a.m. Bingo follows from 1 to 3 p.m. Cost is $12, refunded at event.
   Wed., April 24 — Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons Tribute at Penn’s Peak, Pa. Family-style lunch served. Departure from Kohl’s parking lot at 10 a.m. Cost is $85.
   Our next trip to the Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City is on Monday, Feb. 4.The trip is open to members and non-members (over 21) for $30, with $25 returned. Departs at 9 a.m. from Kohl’s lot and returns at about 7:30 p.m. Call Jo at 908-359-6418 for reservations. Pay on bus.
   Senior room activities:
   Monday: Knitting from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
   Tuesday: Bridge from 9 a.m. to 1:30. Other card games from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
   Wednesday: Canasta from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Mah jongg from noon-4 p.m.

CHAPTER B
   Our first regular meeting of the new year was held Jan. 10 All meetings begin at 12:30 with doors opening at 10:30 a.m.
   New officers were sworn in by Township Clerk Pam Borek. Ed and Nancy Bertin are co-presidents, Tony Fusco is vice-president and Joan Eckerstrom is treasurer. Jennie Kowalczyk is the recording secretary, Terry Procida is corresponding secretary, Claire Fortmiller is financial secretary, and trustees are Sue Novi, Sandy Kwietnak, Bob Kwietnak, Charlotte Politi and Peggy Commerton.
   Jenny McBride, a longtime member, was honored for her 80th birthday. She has lived in Hillsborough since 1961. Asked what she likes about Club B, she said, “Everybody is friendly and I always learn something at the meetings.” Happy Birthday, Jenny.
   Registration for trips begins at 11 a.m. before all meetings. Reservations for our April trip to Washington, D.C., were made at this time. For those who had already reserved a spot, your balance of $139 is due. Insurance of $35 is optional.
   New members will be welcomed at the Feb. 14 meeting. The next bingo is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 21.
   Tickets to our March 13 trip to LiGreci’s Staaten, located in Staten Island, N.Y., for a St. Patrick’s fest went on sale for $73 on a first-come, first-serve basis. You have a choice of salmon or one-half of a roasted chicken.
   A June 10-14 trip to Rocking Horse Ranch in New York State is planned. The five-day trip includes transportation, three daily meals, and day and evening activities, all for a cost of $536. Partial payments are due in February, March and April. More details to follow.
   It’s never too early to think about warm weather and our spring luncheon, which will be held on April 11. Mark the date on your calendar.

   The center at 339 South Branch Road is open from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. Its phone is 908-369-8700.
   Transportation services are available.
   Enjoy lunch for a suggested donation of $1.50 or more. (Price for guests under 60: $5.35). Call 908-369-8700 before 10:30 a.m. the day before to make a lunch reservation.
