Women Business Owners meeting slated

The Central Jersey Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO-CJ) will hold a dinner meeting on Thursday, Feb. 21, 6-9 p.m., at the Hilton Garden Inn, Edison/Raritan Center, 50 Raritan Center Parkway, Edison.

Cost is $29 for members and $35 for nonmembers, and includes networking and a full dinner. Preregistration is required at www.nawbocentraljersey.org.

Often entrepreneurs get into sales sideways. They have a great idea for a business, but then realize they are going to have to sell. Few people are born salespeople; most individuals learn the correct skill set to be successful. The Feb. 21 program will address this topic.

Attendees will learn how to create a “planned presentation” and hear answers to these questions:

 What is a value proposition?

How do we draw buyers into a conversation?

What words can make it easier to sell?

How can we build rapport with others?

In addition, attendees will learn a four-step process for overcoming objections and handling rebuttals, as well as how to ask for the sale using a “no-close” close.

Speaker Jo Ann Kirby is the owner of KRG Communications Group, LLC, which specializes in improving telephone skills and results by telephone for sales and customerservice environments.
