JCC to host healthy cooking workshops

The Jewish Community Center (JCC) on Oak Tree Road in Edison is offering two cooking workshops through TableHealth, designed to teach healthy cooking with flavor.

On Sunday, March 10 at 10:30 a.m., the workshop will include a cooking demonstration, featuring dishes that include nature’s superfoods.

On Sunday, May 5 at 10:30 a.m., attendees will learn how to create 15-minute healthy spring dinners. This class will include essential knife skills and other tips to speed up nightly meal preparation, kitchen organization, cooking demos, creative meal ideas and menus. The menu will feature spaghetti al limone with grilled asparagus and escarole and white bean, and spring wheat pilaf with mint pesto and peas.

Instructor Rachel Saks is a nutritionist/dietician and kosher cooking guru. She is the author of the recent book, “Jewish American Food Culture.”

Each class is $38 for JCC of Middlesex County members, and $42 for nonmembers. If registering for both classes before Feb. 28, the cost for both is $71 for members and $79 for nonmembers.
