Local high school head coaches will be conducting a Little League Coaches Clinic at the Ballpark at Farmingdale, 5100 Asbury Rd., Farmingdale, on March 4 from 7-9 p.m. The cost is free.
Mike Yorke, the head coach at Colts Neck High School, will speak about practice organization. Eric Johnson, the skipper at Howell High School, will discuss defensive skills and drills. Ocean Township High School head coach Sippy Apicelli’s topic is hitting skills and drills.
Marissa DeSantis, 12, of Oceanport, took first place in the girls Youth Mile at Monmouth University’s Moonlight at the MAC indoor track meet on Feb. 20. Competing for RTC Training in her debut indoor track meet, DeSantis crossed the line in a remarkable time of 6:15.
The Youth Mile was held during Monmouth’s college track meet and provided RTC Training runners an opportunity to see some of the best college runners in the area compete in various events.
Robert Cavanaugh is the director of RTC Training. RTC Training is for runners of all ages and abilities to help them reach their running goals.

Under Armour and Baseball Factory will be hosting an open tryout for high school baseball players on March 10 at The Peddie School in Hightstown at 1 p.m. All baseball players ages 14-18 are encouraged to attend. It is a great opportunity for them to be evaluated by pro scouts and to learn how to improve their game, while having some fun out on the field.
Many talented players from the area have come through Baseball Factory’s program, including Monroe’s Frank D’Agostino, who is continuing his academic and athletic career at Temple University.
