Mr. Hegstetter, 76, of Jackson, formerly of Holmdel, died Feb. 24, 2013, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Prior to retiring in 1993, he was employed as a special agent for the FBI in Newark for 38 years. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Mr. Hegstetter was predeceased by a daughter, Allison. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Joan Hegstetter; a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Mario Dionisio of Piscataway; a brother, James Hegstetter of Tiroli, N.Y.; and a granddaughter. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Jackson. Arrangements were by the George S. Hassler Funeral Home, Jackson.
