Mr. Holland, 42, of Toms River, formerly of Lakewood, died Feb. 20, 2013, at home. He was the owner and chief instructor for the Martial Arts Academy, Barnegat. Surviving are his wife of 17 years, Susan Hein Holland; four children, Dayana Love, Griffin, Jack and Patrick; his parents, John A. Sr. and Mary Holland of Lakewood; a sister, Tara Holland Knevals of Manahawkin; and his mother- and father-in-law, Paul and Peggy Hein of Jackson. A funeral ceremony was held at the George S. Hassler Funeral Home, Jackson, followed by a private cremation. Memorial donations may be made to a fund created for Mr. Holland’s children’s education and be sent to the Mercadante residence, 29 Shoverler Lane, Manahawkin, NJ 08050.
