MANVILLE: On church’s soup menu: Lentil and tomato basil

   Through March 29, Holy Ghost Church at Roosevelt and 6th Avenue, Manville, will make a variety of soups, pirohi and halushki on Fridays during Lent. This year, the church has added potato pancakes.
   The soups for Friday, March 15, are lentil and tomato basil.The church hall will be open from 1-6 p.m. each Friday for both lunch and dinner. Food will be available either to eat in and take out.
   Each Friday, two soups, halushki, frozen pirohi, rice pudding and potato pancakes are available for take out.
   Soup costs $8 a quart, halushki $6 per quart, frozen pirohi $7 per dozen; three potato pancakes for $2 and rice pudding for $1.
   Each Friday, two soups, halushki, rice pudding, potato pancakes and cooked pirohi are available to eat in. Soup, rice pudding and your choice of three pirohi, three potato pancakes or halushki costs $5. Drinks are $1.

   March 22: Vegetable soup and Manhattan clam chowder.
   March 29: Broccoli and cheese soup, and vegetable chili.
