Wine tasting benefit slated for May 3

The fourth annual wine tasting fundraiser to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will be held from 6-9 p.m. May 3 at the Laurita Winery, 45 Archertown Road, New Egypt.

Attendees will have a choice of five free tastings or a glass of one of Laurita’s awardwinning wines, along with free-flowing appetizers and a coffee station. Nonalcoholic drinks will also be available. In addition, special gift baskets that have been created in honor of loved ones who have been diagnosed with cancer will be raffled off.

The event is organized by James and Brenda Wishbow of Millstone Township, whose daughter Rebecca was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia in the fall of 2006.

Rebecca, a cancer survivor, graduated in May 2012 from Georgian Court University’s nursing program and is currently a full-time registered nurse at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.

Last year’s fundraiser raised more than $21,000, according to a press release.

New this year will be an ad journal where individuals can place a personal message or use it as a way to advertise a business. The rate will be $25 for a quarter page/business card, $50 for a half page, and $100 for a full page. Inside front or back cover is priced at $200, and the back cover is $300.

Tickets to the event are $50 per person and may be purchased by calling 609-259- 6459. Ticket payments and donations should be made payable to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and mailed to James and Brenda Wishbow, 199 Paint Island Spring Road, Millstone, NJ 08510.
